The standard interval is every 3–6 months, depending on air pollution, pets and the number of people in the household. Systemair SAVE units are used in both large commercial buildings and homes to the same engineering standards, so the residential filter is also designed to withstand continuous, reliable operation. Regular filter replacement maintains stable airflow and protects the heat exchanger from premature clogging, especially in the intensively used SAVE VTR 500 and VTR 700 models with higher airflow rates.

No. VTC and VTR are different unit designs, and each model in the SAVE range takes its own filter set — for example the VTR 300 and VTC 300 use different sets, and a VTR 300 (BF) takes a different set than a VTR 300 (PF). Check the full model code, including PF or BF, on the front panel label before ordering.

Some models differ: the SAVE VTR 200 (BF), VTR 300 (BF) and VR 250 take a coarser G3 extract filter with F7 supply, the VSR 150 comes with G3 or M5 extract, and the VTC 200 takes G4+G4. Each product page shows the exact classes for your model.

Often yes. In the heating season the SAVE unit runs continuously to recover heat, and its defrost cycles and higher fan speeds push more air – and more fine soot from heating – through the supply filter than in summer. The standard 3–6 month interval still applies, but between November and March it's worth checking the filters after about 2–3 months and replacing them earlier if airflow weakens or the control panel shows a filter warning. Changing both filters in the set at the same time keeps the unit balanced.
