The M5 filters capture around 55% of particles up to 10 microns in size, such as pollen, mould spores, pet dander, and house dust. One of them filters the air extracted from your indoor space and protects the MVHR unit; while the other cleans the outdoor air supplied into your home, improving indoor air quality and protecting your health. This helps reduce visible dust, lowers energy consumption, keeps the system running quietly, and extends its lifespan.

Usage and maintenance

Defro recommends replacing the filters every 6 months to ensure optimal air quality and system performance. However, replacement frequency may vary depending on factors such as:

Air pollution levels (e.g. urban vs rural areas)

Allergies or respiratory sensitivities

Indoor pets or smoking

Dust from nearby construction sites

If your system includes a filter change indicator, follow its alerts. Otherwise, check the filters visually – if they appear very dirty or clogged, it’s time to replace them.

A handy rule of thumb in Estonia: always replace the filters in autumn, before the heating season, and in spring, before the birch trees flower in April–May, when the air carries the most pollen.

Manufacturing quality

This filter set is manufactured by Defro, a trusted partner we’ve worked with for many years. We purchase all products directly from them, ensuring authenticity and consistent quality. Defro’s manufacturing facilities, based in Poland, uphold strict European production standards. Their advanced filtration technologies and rigorous testing processes guarantee optimal particle retention, airflow efficiency, and product reliability.

These panel filters are made using Z-line technology, with densely folded filter media mounted in a cardboard frame. Such design maximises the filtration surface area, enhancing particle retention and airflow efficiency. This kind of construction offers a larger effective filtration area, more uniform airflow distribution, improved particle capture, and a lower pressure drop.

By using original Defro filters, you guarantee that your ventilation system performs according to the manufacturer’s specifications, maintaining both optimal indoor air quality and energy efficiency.

Model compatibility Compatible with the following models: Defro DRX 300 V Defro DRX 400 V Defro DRX 500 V Defro DRX OPTI 300 V Defro DRX OPTI 400 V Defro DRX OPTI 500 V Defro DRX OPTI 250 V S Defro DRX OPTI 300 H Defro DRX OPTI 400 H Defro DRX OPTI 500 H […]

Original M5+M5 filter set for the Defro DRX V / OPTI V MVHR unit: M5 extract and M5 supply filters.
